It appears that there was another update to Google's search ranking algorithm, which Google has not confirmed at this time, which began on Wednesday, April 13, and ran through Thursday, April 14. I see talk on SEO forums and some of the tools also show volatility.
As a reminder, the last confirmed update was the March 2022 Product Hotfix Update and it ended on April 11. There was another update on March 18 that was not confirmed. Also one on March 11 and March 4.

So what are we seeing with this unconfirmed Google update on April 13 and 14?

I see ongoing Webmaster-World SEO talks and discussions as of this date range. Some are noticing big changes in traffic to their sites, specifically related to their organic search traffic from Google. This is what the SEOs say:

It can't be a coincidence that I noticed all that spam in my sector last night.
Yesterday there was a huge increase in traffic across the board...US, UK, search, direct. Today, right down again.
The United States falls 60% at 1 p.m. Search -28%, my home page is -47%. Clearly, Google is now implementing massive traffic theft on the fly by changing overloaded page layouts.
I'm seeing a roughly 'one day on, two days off' pattern that leaves much of the week lost. Meanwhile, my ranking has mysteriously regained much of what it lost last year… a year after the big drops began. I can't wait to see what June brings.
I'm not seeing the spam that all of you are seeing at all. The problem in my niche is that Google has decided that informative "how to" articles should be the only thing ranking now for many searches.
They have decided the intention, period. Even worse when you consider that the first organic listing is way, way down the page after all the other excerpts, charts, videos, tweets, etc. that Google is inserting into the page. Any site with commercial intent is forced to pay.
After yesterday's 49% one-day increase in USA traffic, today's 54% drop in USA traffic at 6:30 P.M. Anybody want to bet on USA traffic suddenly shooting up tonight?
This is the new norm...forget being in the USA market during the day most days of the week. Coming soon, every day of the week and at all hours.
